Nicole is a retired U.S. Army veteran with 20 years of distinguished service as a Human Resources Manager. She holds a Master of Science in Counseling with a concentration in Applied Behavioral Science and is an ordained minister committed to serving with compassion, integrity, and purpose.

In her post-military life, Nicole continues her calling through her work as a paraprofessional, supporting students from kindergarten through eighth grade. Her dedication to nurturing young minds reflects her deep belief in the power of guidance, encouragement, and community.

Nicole has been a cornerstone in her family, playing a vital role in organizing meaningful family reunions that honor the legacy of their beloved matriarch. As a minister, she has officiated several weddings, with her most cherished moments being the opportunity to unite her and her husband Lonnie’s children in marriage. She has also humbly and faithfully supported her family by planning homegoing services, offering comfort and structure during times of loss.

While she gives freely of her gifts and talents, Nicole finds her greatest joy in being a devoted helpmate to her husband, Lonnie. Her life is a testament to service, faith, and the quiet strength found in lifting others.

Sky White is the mother, nurse and entrepreneur with more than 20 years of nursing experience, first serving as a clinical nurse and, more recently, as a Clinical Business Development Executive before transitioning to entrepreneurship full time. She is the owner of Shades Face and Body Bar, LLC, one of Hillsborough County’s rapidly growing aesthetics businesses. Her career reflects a strong commitment to clinical excellence, business development, leadership, and community impact.

Sky recently developed a summer reading program incorporating a Black history curriculum to support underperforming third-grade students, in collaboration with the late Dr. Walter Smith III, former president of Florida A&M University.

Sky also co-founded Girls on the Green Tee, an after-school golf program, alongside Clemmie Perry and her mother, the late Doris Reddick, the first Black person elected to the Hillsborough County School Board. In 2020, Girls on the Green Tee was recognized as LPGA Charity of the Year, with the award presented by NFL Hall of Famer Ronde Barber. The organization also received Charity of the Year honors from the Tory Burch Foundation, with sponsorship support from designer Tory Burch.

In 2018, Sky stepped beyond her role as a community organizer and ran for the Hillsborough County Commission District 7 countywide seat, a position that had never been held by an African American. Her campaign earned endorsements from Democracy for America and Run for Something, making her the only candidate in Central Florida endorsed by both organizations. With nearly 1 million registered voters in the county, Sky became the first Black candidate that has ever come within a few percentage points of winning the seat. 

While Sky is no longer seeking elected office, she remains actively involved in community advocacy and continues to use her voice and experience to support initiatives that strengthen and empower the community.

Through her professional, entrepreneurial, and community work, Sky has developed extensive experience in clinical leadership, business development, strategic planning, large-scale initiatives, team coordination, and accountability. She brings these skills, along with a strong commitment to collaboration and organization, to her work with the Family Reunion Committee.

Sky looks forward to using her experience to support the committee, strengthen the planning process, and help create a well-organized, memorable, and meaningful reunion for the entire family.

Tierra Michel is a communications and marketing professional, entrepreneur, wife, and mom who enjoys bringing creativity and organization to everything she does. A proud graduate of the University of South Florida, Tierra holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Interpersonal Communication and brings more than 15 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, and media.

She is the owner of Infinity One Media and also works alongside her husband in their family-owned event production company. With a passion for turning ideas into organized plans and memorable experiences, Tierra enjoys using both her creative and strategic skills to bring people together. When she isn’t working or spending time with her family, she enjoys photography, creative projects, and, most recently, putting those organizational skills to work as the family reunion treasurer.

Lonnie has 25 years of military service built around  discipline, resilience, and a commitment to showing up every single day—and that hasn’t changed. Now driving school buses in Spring Hill, FL, still serving the community by making sure the next generation gets where they need to go safely.

Proud husband to Nicole Powell for 22 years and a dedicated family man who puts his loved ones above everything. Life today is about faith, family, and staying grounded while continuing to lead by example.

A proud retiree of Hillsborough County Public Schools’ Department of Transportation, I dedicated 35 years to service and am now happily embracing retirement. I enjoy spending quality time with my wonderful husband, Clint, and my beautiful grandchildren—Micah, Heavenly, and Hadassa. I’ve also had the opportunity to participate in missionary trips to Haiti and Belize and I look forward to exploring even more of the world. I joined the committee to contribute my time and help create a truly memorable family event, and I’m excited to be a part of it. 

Chasity Malatesta is an educator, equity leader, and community builder whose work centers on expanding access, representation, and cultural literacy through education. She holds a Biology degree, a Master of Arts in Teaching from George Fox University, and completed additional graduate studies to facilitate Equity programs.

Her career includes more than a decade of classroom teaching, leadership in AP program access, and national training with the College Board to increase participation and success for students of color in advanced STEM courses. In Washington, she helped establish the Bainbridge Island Race Equity Task Force, professional network of black Bainbridge and supported district equity policy.

She contributed to policies to make the city of Bainbridge island culturally centered and more welcoming space for arts and cultural groups. Contributed to matrix for city for hiring inclusive candidates to serve on committees. Meets monthly with diverse families to listen to needs as well as create opportunities to connect and build belonging.

Chasity serves on the Executive Boards of the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and IslandWood, advises cultural clubs in local schools, and is Secretary of the Bremerton NAACP. Her contributions have been recognized with the Bainbridge Strong Award, the Bainbridge Community Foundation’s Spark Award, and the 2026 Washington African American Achievement Award.

She is committed to building strong, connected communities where all children and families can thrive.

Dr. Adam Harris was born in Tampa, Florida, and raised in Jackson Heights. Active in the Church of God in Christ from an early age, he developed a deep passion for preaching, teaching, music, and serving others.

Adam attended Hillsborough High School, where he played sports before moving to Illinois to attend the College of DuPage and pursue his passion for football. Following a divine calling, he chose to step away from his pursuit of professional football and return to his faith, beginning a ministry journey that would take him across the United States and internationally, including to South Africa.

He later served at New Life Christian Center in Gainesville, where he worked with youth and contributed to the church community as a van driver and choir exhorter. In 2016, Adam began his studies at Life Christian University, where he earned a Doctor of Ministry in Theology, graduating summa cum laude.

Since June 11, 2022, Adam has served as an Executive Protection Officer at Tampa General Hospital. Beyond his professional and ministry commitments, he has dedicated significant time to coaching youth soccer and supporting the athletic development of young people. He takes particular pride in witnessing the accomplishments of his son, Micah, whose athletic talent was recognized in the Riverview newspaper and led to a full scholarship opportunity with Orlando City Academy.

Above all, Adam is a devoted father who takes great pride in his three children. He is passionate about family, sports, fitness, faith, and serving God. Through each of these areas of his life, he strives to lead by example and positively impact those around him.
